The following research guides offer resources for getting started with civil cases in the Illinois Circuit Courts. "Starting and Responding to a Civil Case" provides general information and terminology that is useful for any civil case. The other guides offer resources and vocabulary for specific areas of law. Please visit a local public law library to find the materials in these guides. No single library will have every resource shown here.
