SALARY: $62,244

HOURS OF WORK: 8:30 a.m. 5:00 p.m.  
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Assistant Director, Judicial Education Division  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:  The Training Manager facilitates and coordinates all phases of continuing legal education curriculum design, planning, presentation, delivery and evaluation, including the management of meetings, event sites and distance learning environments.  The Training Manager is expected to draft documents/reports that aid the development and delivery of continuing legal education and the production of legal resources.  The Training Manager works closely with the Assistant Director of the Judicial Education Division, Division/AOIC staff, judges, subject matter experts, and others to plan, coordinate and facilitate continuing legal education programs for the benefit of the Illinois Judicial Branch, including, Illinois judges, justice partners and Judicial Branch staff.  The Training Manager will also manage judicial benchbooks, grants, research projects, and other tasks as needed.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:  A minimum of two (2) years progressively responsible professional experience in a legal or adult education environment.  An advanced degree in curriculum and instruction, adult education, or related area will be considered; however, a J.D. from an ABA accredited law school and Judicial Branch legal experience are strongly preferred.  Successful candidate must have a strong interest, regardless of background, in the development of continuing legal education programs and possess outstanding organizational, project management, oral and written communication skills, and a demonstrated knowledge of standard office technologies and legal research products including at a minimum, Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe Reader, PowerPoint, LexisNexis and Westlaw research tools.  Familiarity with audience response systems (Turning Point), Keynote (Apple), cloud storage, Google Docs, online meeting technologies (WebEx, etc.) and distance learning technologies (Blackboard), strongly preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Ability and licensure necessary to lawfully drive State of Illinois vehicles on occasion.  Ability to sit and stand for extended time periods.  Ability to bend, lift, carry and transport office equipment, books, binders and other materials, and move/rearrange lightweight office furniture (chairs, tables).  The work environment requires extensive use of a personal computer, telephone, fax, copier, printer, scanner, video/teleconference equipment, and other technologies.  Ability to set-up meeting environment, and manage off-site meeting facilities and technologies required.
Applicant must have the ability to work additional hours and occasional state-wide travel to-and-from events, meetings, and the AOIC, including occasional weekends, early morning and late evening travel, and overnight stays.
