ESSENTIAL DUTIES:  The IT Security Group is responsible for all aspects of network and computer security, patch and threat management and the continuity of operation of equipment/services in the central data center and statewide judicial offices. The IT Security Analyst will work under the direction of the IT Security Manager and Assistant Director, JMIS to carry out the responsibilities of the IT Security Group, including configuring and monitoring security equipment, software systems, multiple domains, Active Directory authentication, and group / security policies. The IT Security Analyst will be tasked with maintaining and support of a mission critical Exchange e-Mail system, data circuits (dedicated and ISP) for office and computer connectivity, wireless networks, and programming of the LAN/WAN technologies (firewalls, routers, VLAN's and VPN's) and threat protection systems. This position requires intermittent work after normal hours.

FUNCTIONS:  The IT Security Analyst position requires strict discipline in a work approach and the ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity in securing the Court's infrastructure. This position will work under the guidance of the IT Security Manager. The IT Security Analyst must have hands-on knowledge and experience with Cisco IOS, firewall configuration, and switch/VPN administration in an enterprise infrastructure. The IT Security Analyst must understand data/voice cabling, IP schemes, and enterprise networking. The IT Security Analyst must be experienced with monitoring and administering backup systems and restoration of backups, administering groups and user accounts, and security monitoring systems. Hands-on experience with Windows server setup and administration, monitoring system logs, hard drives and raid array systems, and all server and computer hardware components. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Visio. Performs other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:  A Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology or equivalent work experience is preferred. The successful candidate must possess strong oral and written communication skills, be very detail-oriented and disciplined in procedures and assignments, have excellent project and time management skills and be self-motivated. Ability to work alone, with colleagues and third-party service providers is important.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  Professional office working environment. Ability to lift and move servers, storage systems, computers, monitors and computer accessories. Travel and some additional work hours.
