SALARY: $57,998 (fillable application requires Adobe Reader or Acrobat)

HOURS OF WORK: 8:30 a.m. 5:00 p.m.  
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Human Resource Manager  

SUMMARY: The human resource analyst performs analytical and administrative work in one or more functional areas of the Human Resources Division. 

  • Researches compensation trends and reviews compensation surveys to ensure the Court's schedule is up-to-date, cost effective, and competitive.
  • Designs and prepares reports summarizing research, job analysis, and compensation analysis findings.
  • Consults with supervisors and managers to develop job descriptions for all current job titles, creates job descriptions for any newly created positions, records changes in job duties, job codes, or job grades to maintain an updated job description database.
  • Observes, interviews and surveys employees to collect occupational information to perform job audits.
  • Tracks each judicial branch position.  Maintains position allocation spreadsheets and prepares various reports.
  • Enters and checks timekeeping information into human resources leave system and maintains files. 
  • Assists with recruiting by producing vacancy announcements, posting vacancies to external sources, responding to applicants, and creating and maintaining applicant lists.
  • Maintains employee confidence and protects operations by keeping Human Resource information confidential.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  A bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, compensation or a related field and a minimum of three (3) years experience in human resources.  Compensation experience is strongly preferred.   Additional work experience may be substituted for the degree.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Candidates must possess a strong attention to detail; excellent organizational, time management, and interpersonal skills; knowledge of and experience using Microsoft Office; stellar verbal and written communication skills; ability to maintain high standards of confidentiality and respond to change productively. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, in particular, very strong in Word skills and an expert with Excel spreadsheet.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:  This position requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time.    Applicant must have the ability to file and retrieve files accurately.  This is a professional office working environment requiring telephone usage and the ability to process written documents.  Applicant must possess a valid Illinois driver's license and demonstrate proof of automobile insurance to operate a personal vehicle on state business, as well as maintain a safe driving record.
