St. Clair County Courts receive $30,000 Access to Justice Grant

7/23/2024

The St. Clair County Judiciary and court system are pleased to announce an Access to Justice Grant in the amount of $30,000. The purpose of the grant is to upgrade the technology and related support systems for self litigants' use in the St. Clair County Law Library.

Chief Judge Andrew J. Gleeson states: "The Grant facilitates our abilities to function as a complex, high volume court system. The upgrades have allowed us much needed flexibility in meeting the public's needs. Once again the judicial staff of St. Clair County has been instrumental in preparing and executing this grant. We are fortunate to benefit from their efforts." Also, Judge Gleeson wants to thank the Supreme Court and the Access to Justice Division for their support of the infrastructure needs of the Twentieth Judicial Circuit and its contribution to the legal needs of our community.

Maggie Smith, Deputy Trial Court Administrator, states: "Receiving approval for the 2024 Access to Justice Grant allows the Law Library to expand its resources to better serve the community. We will use the funds for a Zoom room and extra workstations that will allow more individuals access to services with additional privacy."

Karina Sanders, Law Librarian, comments: "The 2024 Access to Justice Grant gives the Law Library an opportunity to expand and provide more access to those in the community who need additional resources."
