Here are some of the recent honors received by Illinois judges: 12th Circuit Court Judge Vincent F. Cornelius was honored by the University of Saint Francis as the recipient of College of Business & Health Administration Alumni Award at the annual Distinguished Alumni Awards program on September 28th as part of the University’s 2024 homecoming festivities.Supreme Court Justice Joy V. Cunningham will be honored by Law Bulletin Media as an honoree at the group’s 5th Annual Top Women in the Law Awards on November 7th for her work to advance other women in the profession and “being a shining example of leadership”.First District Appellate Justice Sanjay Tailor was honored by the South Asian Bar Association (SABA) of Chicago as the recipient of the Trailblazer Award at the group’s 15th Annual Gala on October 18th in recognition of his remarkable contributions to the legal community. Also honored at the Gala was Deputy Chief Administrative Law Judge Azeema Akram of the Illinois Human Rights Commission, who was the recipient of SABA’s Women’s Leadership Award.Supreme Court Justice P. Scott Neville will be honored by the Cook County Bar Association (CCBA), in conjunction with the Illinois Judicial Council, Black Women Lawyers' Association of Greater Chicago, Inc. and The Black Men Lawyers' Association, as the recipient of the Trailblazer Award on November 7th at the CCBA's November Joint Dinner in Chicago.
