Illinois Judges Receive Recognition and Awards - January 27, 2020

Illinois judges are increasingly being recognized for their dedicated work in courtrooms throughout the state. Here are some of the recent honors received by Illinois judges:

  • 19th Circuit Judge Christopher Stride was honored as the recipient of the Benedict J. Ori Award from the Lake County’s State’s Attorney and the Lake County Bar Association, which honors a former Lake County prosecutor who has distinguished themselves in the practice of law or in public service.
  • 19th Circuit Associate Judge Theodore S. Potkonjak was honored as the recipient of the Czar Dushan Award from the Serbian Bar Association of America, which recognizes exemplary leadership and outstanding achievement in the legal profession.
  • Cook County Circuit Judge Edward S. Harmening was honored as the recipient of the Judge of the Year award from the Illinois Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates.
  • First District Appellate Justice Jesse G. Reyes and the Hon. Thomas R. Chiola (retired) were honored with awards at the Diversity Scholarship Foundation’s 2019 Unity Award Dinner as leaders in diversity.
