Illinois Judges Receive Recognition and Awards - July 29, 2019

Illinois judges are increasingly being recognized for their dedicated work in courtrooms throughout the state. Here are some of the recent honors received by Illinois judges:

  • Cook County Circuit Judge Mary C. Marubio was honored on July 11, 2019, as the recipient of the Community Leadership Award by the Illinois State Bar Association's Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Committee. Judge Marubio received the award "in recognition of her significant dedication towards eliminating discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity and foster understanding of legal issues of concern to lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender persons."
  • Third Judicial District Circuit Judge Barbara Crowder (retired) was honored in June as the recipient of the Board of Governor's Award by the Illinois State Bar Association at the 2019 ISBA Annual Meeting.
