Shick has been appointed Acting Chief Judge of the 5th Judicial Circuit, effective Sept. 1, 2017. He will serve out the remainder of the term of Chief Judge Craig H. DeArmond, who is on assignment to the Fourth District Appellate Court effective the same date. Judge Shick's term as Acting Judge is effective until 11:59 p.m. on the last Thursday of January 2019. Balloting for Chief Judge for the next two year will take place at least two weeks prior to the conclusion of the term. Judge Shick earned a B.S. from Eastern Illinois University in 1983. He went on to receive his J.D. from St. Louis University in 1986 and was admitted to the Illinois State Bar that same year. See More News Posts
